Our Great British Sports range is a timely celebration of the sports and sporting occasions that were founded in Britain. The London Marathon began in 1981 with 7,747 contenders. The 26 mile route passed many London sights such as Tower Bridge, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. Since then, the race has grown in size, stature and popularity. Now established among the major British sporting events, the London Marathon is shown on television in more than 150 countries around the world.
