SEND OUT INVITATIONS
You want a cozy and intimate gathering, so it's best to keep the guest list between 6-10 people. Include the time and include a theme, if applicable, such as baby shower or Mother's Day. For a nice added touch, use handwritten invitations.
SELECT TEA ACCESSORIES
The accessories are key to setting the mood, so select a nice teapot (one for each blend served) and cups and saucers for each guest. Depending on if you're serving loose tea or tea bags, include strainers or small dishes to collect the leaves. Make sure to also include a small pitcher for milk, small plates, napkins and utensils and accessories for lemon slices, honey and sugar. Use your accessories to play up your theme.
SELECT THE TEA
There are many different kinds of tea that you can serve, but you should limit yourself to no more than two to three varieties. You can ask your guests what they prefer before they arrive or you can just serve what you think they might enjoy. Our Earl Grey, English Tea No.1 and Green Tea Pure are Ahmad Tea customer favorites.
PLAN YOUR MENU
Afternoon tea food tends to be more sweet than savory but it's good to include both in your menu. Light snacks, such as cucumber sandwiches, are a simple option for those without a sweet tooth. Sweet options can include scones with jam or cream, cookies, fruit cake or slices of ice cake.

SET THE TABLE
Cover a large table with a linen cloth. Place the tea at one end of the table and the lemon, milk, honey and sugar next to the tea. As the host, you will be serving your guests their tea. The rest of the food can be placed at the other end of the table. You can place the delicious treats on plates or a 3-tiered serving tray to allow guests to easily serve themselves.
HOST YOUR GUESTS
Afternoon tea is typically a casual affair, but don't be afraid to get a bit dressier than you would for a normal gathering with friends. Once the guests arrive, bring them to the table, chat, sip tea and eat the delicious food that you've prepared. Enjoy your afternoon tea and share the experience with friends!
