The first person you’ll meet when you visit Ahmad Tea’s HQ in Hampshire is Miranda Bland. She is Ahmad Tea’s UK Sales Coordinator and also our receptionist. We caught up with her to find out why she loves working at Ahmad Tea and what’s her favourite cup of tea.
Miranda, tell us about your role at Ahmad Tea
I’m UK Sales Coordinator so I’m responsible for processing orders, liaising with our retailers and communicating with them on when they’ll receive their next tea delivery. I also manage the sales for our UK Heritage channel. This is a growing sales opportunity for us within museums, abbeys, castles etc. I’m also busy throughout the day greeting our guests, making them delicious cups of tea, managing our company inbox and answering the phone. It’s a pretty full-on job!
What training have you had while at the company?
Everyone at the company has to go through the company’s Tea Academy where we learn where tea comes from, how it is processed and of course how to brew the perfect cup of tea. I loved learning more about loose leaf tea and how to make the perfect cup of tea with it.
What are your favourite parts of the job?
I’m a people person so I love speaking to people and spreading the joy of exceptional teas!

What are the most challenging aspects of your job?
It’s a reactive and time sensitive job and I constantly have to prioritise my tasks to meet my deadlines. All our teas have a shelf life so we have to be as efficient as possible when we process orders to ensure that all our customers receive their orders quickly.
How would you describe Ahmad Tea to someone who was interested in joining the company?
It’s a lovely family run business which cares about its employees. No two days are the same and although it’s a fast-paced business, there’s always time for a good cup of tea and a laugh. The companies value of kindness is easy to see every day and it’s a brand which I’m proud to represent.
What’s been your career highlight since working at Ahmad Tea?
There are so many to mention but if I had to pick one, it would be attending NEC Spring fair at Birmingham’s NEC. I loved meeting our customers and introducing so many people to our range of teas.
Finally, what’s your favourite cup of tea?
It has to be Ahmad Tea’s Peach & Passion Fruit, it smells and tastes amazing.
