For the majority of our markets we have two types of teabag: heat-seal and non-heat seal.
The vast majority (94%) of our teabags (teabags with a string) are non-heat seal: made up of 100% natural fibres, contain no plastic and are fully home compostable.
Heat-seal teabags (teabags without string) do contain some traces of plastic but we have been exploring exciting alternatives based on renewable resources (natural plant materials) which we are hoping to announce soon.
In some markets we sell loose leaf pyramid teabags. We are pleased to say that these contain no plastic and are 100% biodegradable.
